A New Addiction

Okay, I admit it. I'm addicted...to microstock illustration that is. After reading Pam Blackstone's blog about her experiences, I submitted some fractal pictures to Shutterstock.com. I was excited to be accepted and now have my own portfolio. I love making fractal art and since most of it isn't worthy of being printed as "fine art", it's nice to have a paying audience that appreciates it. I love playing with Ultra Fractal and although the money at the microstocks isn't huge, I am selling and will at some point start uploading to some other microstock sites, as well as teach myself how to do vector drawings in Illustrator. It's always fun to be learning and this year has been great for my personal education, without a big outlay of cash. Onward and upward!

New Angle

"Midnight Bloom"
I think I've gotten to the point where I can't remember what images I've already shown here and what ones I haven't. So if the picture is a repeat, wait till the next one and maybe it will be new! My new marketing angle is selling through a microstock agency. These are subscription based stock photography companies that also accept illustrations, vector drawings and most interestingly, fractals. I've been accepted at Shutterstock.com and if my images are downloaded, I earn a small commission, which will hopefully add up as I get more images uploaded and accepted. Click here to see my gallery. If you think you also might want to make some money selling stock photos or be a subscriber let me know and I'll refer you.

Another One for Imagekind

"Bird of Paradise"
I'm working many hours a day to get images uploaded to a variety of sites now. And to be honest, having a great time doing it. This fractal image has been put into my Imagekind gallery. I haven't used up my alloted free space yet but am more than halfway there. I'm kind of holding off so I can put up the newest ones and not be stuck with only old art. One step at a time... Click on the picture above to take you to Imagekind.

New Images at ImageKind

"Blue Ballerina Shoes"
This is one of the new images I've uploaded to ImageKind in the last couple of days. Although it is an abstract spiral, I couldn't help but think of dancing when I saw it.
